Reflections of March

I have to say, once again, I am happy to see another month go.  This month wasn't nearly as horrid as the last, and it seemed to go by a little quicker.

Reflecting on the month, there were a few firsts.  Stryker's first day of Doggie Daycare, my new (and first) FRG position as a co-lead.  There were also stressful and not so stressful work days.  Some major changes at work.  Some major hoops we've had to jump through for the Army.  Lots of baking.  Hints of beautiful Washington weather which will hopefully carry on into the summer.

It's really strange to feel so grateful that 31 days of your life are gone, because people often say live each day as it were your last.  For some reason I have a very hard time doing that.  I take advantage of opportunities if they come my way, most of the time at least.  But it's very hard to be "normal" and have that complete joy of living your life to the fullest when you know such a large piece of it is missing.

With that I say goodbye to March, and hello to April.  Hopefully April gives me very very good things.

You Know Spring is Coming When...

......you see this:

Cherry Blossoms!!!!!

Oh warm weather, how I've missed you!  And it's time to say goodbye already because we're supposed to be getting some rain for a while....Oh well I guess.

Happy Monday everyone!

Beautiful Sunday

Maybe Sunday is not my lucky day?  I don't know what it was about this morning!  My husband and I aren't really getting along and my dog chewed up my shoes!  Ugh, what next?  My plans for the day were slightly rearranged, but that is okay.

Dad and I took Stryker out to play (he's passed out somewhere around here), came home, and decided to take a walk at the park.  Mom decided she wanted to go too, so we went and enjoyed some sunshine!

I have officially decided a trip to Mt. Rainier is due... Maybe our next nice weekend when I have a day off.  Brunch then out to the mountain sounds great to me!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  I may not be popping up on here much this week, I work a bit this week and the bro is going to be coming home for the weekend.  So, we'll see how things go!

Spring Themed

So as you can probably tell I've decided to change my background to a lucky St. Pat's theme, and I changed my signature on the blog too.  Just a couple things to keep things up to date.

Also -- I am really, I mean really obsessed with care packages.  I drove around Lakewood Town Center today trying to find some good green frosting to put on the shamrock cookies I'm making Jesse for St. Pat's (it has to be stackable).  I bought a shamrock cookie cutter a while back, and I bought some super cute sprinkles that are shamrocks.  I have a few other ideas for St. Pat's, so I might do a blog on care packages based on the holiday (and V-Day for that matter).  Since Jesse's not going to be here for Easter either, I have to say I've already started a collection of Easter stuff.  I have to be on the ball with these two holidays coming up, but I've already picked out these super cute cookies that I'm going to make (more on that later), and I bought some candy from Target and Fred Meyer that I haven't seen anywhere else yet.  All I have to say is good job, retailers.  You're making my year with the new candies you're coming out with this spring.

Yay for spring!

A March Update

Hello All,

We are sorry that we haven't updated the blog in a while, but it has been a while, and we have some new information to update everyone on.

Stryker is doing well, we took him in to the vetinary office after a month of having him on his kidney diet, and he is doing well. It looks like the IV and the diet did well. We (and our vet) are very happy!

Jesse started IBOLC and seems to be doing well. The cadre seems to be very nice, and I have already made it to an event and a social with the other IBOLC wives and battalion commander's wife.

This past week Jesse got his orders for Italy. I know that I haven't really updated the blog lately with the latest information but now he's set to go to Italy with 173rd Airborne. If things go well with Ranger school, we should be set!

And Ranger school.... We think Jesse should be making the July 27th date. All of the Infantry officers have to go through both Airborne and Ranger school. For those who don't know what is involved in Ranger school... It is a 9 week course with 3 phases, 3 weeks for each phase. First phase is Darby, which is here on Ft. Benning. Second is mountain, which is in northern Georgia. Third is swamp phase, which is down in Florida. The school is both physically and mentally draining, but it's nothing that he can't handle!

Other than that, I believe that is what is all that is new with us! We will try and write again soon!
