Mil-Spouse Quiz

Is it mid-January already?
Time goes so quickly.

Today I've decided to do the
Mil-Spouse Quiz
1. How did you and your spouse meet? Through a friend of a friend.  If you ask Jesse he will say the internet or {the oh so classy} Hot-or-Not.  Don't get me wrong, I was not on hot-or-not.  I had a friend who met a soldier who was on hot-or-not.  Actually I think both of them were on Hot-or-Not.  This soldier was in Iraq a the time.  When he got back from Iraq my friend met him and saw him on a regular basis. Later on I met him, then his roommate.  His roommate was Jesse.
2. How old were you when you two met? Showing my age here!  I was 20 and I think that Jesse was 22.
3. How long have you been together? Together about 8 years, married over 5 now.
4. Where are you and your spouse originally from? Washington.  I was from what's considered the south sound {south of Seattle}, and Jesse is from the North Cascade area.
5. How did you feel about him joining the military? I didn't have the choice, I met him when he was on leave after he was back from Iraq.  He had already made that commitment.
6. Where did your spouse go to Basic Training? Fort Benning, GA.
7. Has your spouse ever been deployed? Yes, twice.
8. Ever been to his promotion ceremony? Yes, I have been to one.
9. How long have you been a military wife? Over 5 years now.  At the time we were married, he technically was in ROTC, but at that point we were already together a few years, and he was pretty much locked in to a scholarship and doing Army stuff the entire time.
10. Did you marry him before or after he joined? Yep.
11. How did your husband propose? He proposed at his parent's house in Washington.  Nothing big and elaborate.
12. Where did you get married? My childhood church that was in Tacoma, WA.
13. How old were you two when you got married? I was 22 and he was 24.
14. Did he wear his uniform on his wedding day? Nope, even though I wish we could've done that complete with all of the military customs.
15. Where are you and your spouse currently stationed? Fort Benning, GA.
16. Do you live on base? No.
17. How long were you married when you had to go through your first separation? First deployment? We were married 3 years.
18. What is your favorite base so far? Fort Lewis.  Kinda pathetic, I know, but I think it was the best of everything.  Much better than Fort Benning.  The area isn't horrible, but there's way more to do in Washington.
19. Do you think your spouse looks good in his uniform? Um, yes.  Who doesn't?
20. Do you think military life is more advanced than civilian life? No, I think that's not even a fair question.  They're different.
21. Do you like the benefits you receive as a military dependent? Yes.
22. Do you have a lot of military wife friends? Oh yes.  Some really really great people.
23. What is the hardest part of the military life? Deployments, obviously.  There can also be some strange rules and difficult people that make life a bit difficult.  Most of the time the positives outweigh the negatives.
24. Do you own military wife stuff? A few things.  I like unit-specific items {which we have a lot of} and I love Victoria's Secret's PINK collection of Army stuff.
25. Do you support your spouse as a member of the military? Duh;)
