I do think that I want to share with my readers my love for Eat This, Not that books. I think by now they have about five books out, and if you haven't checked them out, do it. It will AMAZE you the calories that are in a LOT of items you get at fast food and sit-down joints. They give a lot of advice on how to make more educated choices with fewer calories, fat, and sodium - especially if you don't want to stop eating out and want to lose weight. Each book is different, focusing on different areas, some mostly on fast food, others on what you should choose at the supermarket, and even what to make at home. I think one thing that I love most about these books is all of the random facts they give you and the great nutritional value for herbs, fruits, veggies, and the like. For instance:
- People who eat more than two servings of vegetables a day have 40% slower rate of cognitive decline than those who eat one serving or less.
- Cut 90 calories from your daily diet and you'll be 10 lbs lighter one year from today.
- Drinking three glasses of red wine a week decreases your risk of colon cancer by 68%.
So, if you don't want to buy the book, at least look at it when you're in Costco or Target next. I have the latest book, Cook this, Not that. It has some great advice in it, and some very yummy looking recipes. I will try some and let you know what I like. If your focus this new year is weight loss, this book has some great advice on what you can do that is simple and easy. I love this book!!!
Alrighty that is all for now!
